We are providing online instruction examples for each phase of production
presented in advance of the time it is introduced. The
purpose of these instruction examples is to provide a sneak peak into
each phase and give you a head start before our artists arrive.
During an animated film production we operate in a parallel workflow
where several departments work on different aspects of the same
elements, sequences and shots. This work style affords us the
ability to move freely between departments and respond to changes and
iterations without significant cost. It provides an opportunity
for us to collaborate and work ahead even if pieces are missing.
We use this workflow to continually improve our ideas and it gives our
directors, producers and creative team a chance to see the work
progress evenly.
We hope our online instruction examples will afford you the same
opportunity by making it easier for you to engage all of your team
members as much as possible throughout the entire process. While
some are working on layout, others could be refining your models or
rigs and while some are animating, others could be painting texture
maps for your environment or figuring out how occlusion and reflections
work in lighting. Use your time wisely and efficiently, be smart,
work together. You have a short deadline and a lot of work ahead
of you and we are expecting great things!
