DISNEY ANIMATION
DISNEY ANIMATION CAREERS
I'm a senior software developer on the Production Technology Character Performance and Authoring Team! We partner closely with our amazing artists, production teams, and technical directors.
Our goal is to design, develop, and support workflows for creating, editing, animating, and manipulating characters and cameras. Basically, we're here to enable artists to bring all the wonderful characters you see on screen to life!
Working in our highly collaborative environment, where technology intersects with art, requires strong communication skills. We frequently tackle projects that involve specialists from various disciplines. Therefore, the ability to clearly articulate your own ideas, actively listen to and understand diverse perspectives, and effectively ask clarifying questions is essential.
I most relate to Stitch from Lilo & Stitch! He's just a ball of energy, ready to jump into action when needed. He's super adaptable and never afraid to try new things as he searches for what his own home and family and helps people along the way. He brings so much fun and joy by being his wonderful, silly, inventive self—and that's something I really aspire to be!
My path to film and animation wasn't direct! I began my career in Biology and Bioinformatics, focusing on lab experiments and genomic data analysis.
Being in Vancouver sparked my interest in the film industry, and when I heard about software careers in the field, I was intrigued. After securing my first role as a software engineer in film, I quickly became passionate about how technology empowers artists and drives creativity, allowing them to realize their visions.
